This morning I stumbled over this article from ianyan magazine. Please give it a read and then leave me a comment to let me know what your own experience has been.
Not the same thing, but I've often had people not expect a white Irish girl to show up given my first name is ethnic. Interesting to watch them go through the motions of recovering from that. My ethnic background was never talked about by my family so don't feel any ties, but would love to know more. I think it's great you have those ties.
